Sustainable management of fire extinguishing water.
Climate adaptation is becoming increasingly important in several professional areas and sectors of society, including the fire service. In the fire service, this has led to increased attention to the environmental impact of fires – both from the fire itself and from extinguishing efforts. The fire service has some opportunity to influence the environmental impact through the choice of extinguishing tactics and extinguishing agents. Water, which is often used, is in short supply in many parts of the world, and in the case of large fires, very large quantities may be required for a long time.
